In my experience, taking a decent photograph of a squirrel is never as easy as it should be. They, and particularly the ridiculously fast Scottish red squirrel, often turn into streaks of blurred fur. So I am a bit pleased with this shot, especially since the Scots pine adds a deliciously textured finish, with neatly staged bokeh.
